ABOUT THE ROLE

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a New Products and Innovation Business Analyst to work for our client within the energy sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in the West Midlands.
Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to join their Flexibility Team on a new project focused on remotely controlling batteries in customer homes and potentially businesses to access revenues in return for flexibility. The project will involve managing the charging and discharging of batteries, ensuring customer needs are met, as well as maximizing revenue from flexibility markets. This role will also provide ad hoc support to the External Affairs team on smaller project delivery needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with internal flexibility and energy management teams to support delivery of the battery flexibility project, ensuring customer requirements are met while maximizing market revenues
  • Liaise with Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) providers such as Amber, KrakenFlex and GridX to assess feasibility and integration opportunities
  • Support the innovation cycle from design through to delivery, adopting an agile and iterative approach
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across cross-functional teams, facilitating clear communication between technical and non-technical audiences
  • Provide business analysis for new product and service concepts within the client’s Innovation team, contributing to the design of scalable solutions
  • Support project planning, execution, and monitoring, with strong focus on business value
  • Deliver ad hoc project management support to the External Affairs team, including contributions to digital, policy advocacy, and communications projects
