REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience in business analysis for large-scale data and analytics initiatives, preferably in government or enterprise settings.
• Proficiency in modelling business processes, mapping data flows, and documenting system interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience writing clear, concise, and complete business and functional requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks, including managing product backlogs, writing user stories, and supporting iterative delivery.
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions, analytics tools, or enterprise information systems is desirable.
• Strong documentation, presentation, and problem-solving capabilities.

• This will be an Office based/Hybrid role in Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide & Sydney locations.
  The Business Analyst will support the delivery of enterprise data and analytics initiatives for an end customer in a government department by translating complex business needs into clear and actionable system requirements.
  This role plays a key part in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions are designed with purpose, compliance, and long-term value.
  Operating at SFIA Level 5 or 6, the Business Analyst will engage across multiple teams and programs, providing detailed analysis, process mapping, and solution validation to support the delivery of large-scale, data-intensive services in an agile environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engage with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for data and analytics solutions.
• Develop and maintain business analysis artefacts, including process flows, use cases, data dictionaries, and user stories.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solution designs align with business goals, data standards, and security requirements.
• Translate high-level business needs into detailed solution requirements that are traceable and testable.
• Analyse complex datasets and systems to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, or redesign.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discussions with stakeholders across business and technology areas.
• Support the validation and verification of solution outcomes against requirements, including contribution to testing and QA activities.
• Ensure business needs are represented throughout the design, build, and deployment phases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in business analysis practices and delivery processes.
