Business Analyst, NYSI (2025-139)
Overview
The American Arbitration Association (AAA) seeks a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to support the operations of its New York State Insurance (NYSI) Case Management Center. In this role, you will play a key part in improving workflows, enhancing digital tools, and increasing the overall efficiency of case administration through business process automation. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing requirements, mapping and documenting current and future processes, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and supporting quality assurance testing and implementation efforts. This position works closely with technical teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure the effective development and deployment of system enhancements, including AI-driven tools and dashboards that support case management and operational goals.
Work Environment
This position offers a remote work arrangement; candidates must reside at a U.S. location within 125 miles of their assigned office location. Compensation will be determined based on geographic location.

Compensation

  • Buffalo, NY: $69,700 – $73,800
  • New York City, NY: $82,300 – $87,200

This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based incentive.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 4–6 years of prior work experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, QA testing, and/or software development. Experience or familiarity with business process automation, AI tools (e.g., natural language processing, machine learning, intelligent document processing), or data visualization platforms is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess business needs, design solutions, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to evaluate and incorporate new technologies that enhance business operations.
  • Understanding of digital transformation concepts and the ability to champion change management in technology adoption.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to assess, test, and deploy AI-driven or automated solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies; able to align requirements gathering, testing, and stakeholder communications accordingly.
  • Project management skills to coordinate testing efforts, manage releases, and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data analysis tools, Microsoft Office applications, and case management systems.
