Description
As a Business Analyst, you will gather, analyse, and manage customer and business requirements for product enhancements. You will work closely with stakeholders and internal teams to translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and documentation that supports successful delivery. This role will also support the Engineering Lead in functional analysis and in producing external business documentation delivered to clients. You will play an important part in ensuring newly developed functionality meets business and functional requirements, while contributing to continuous improvement across products, systems, and processes. Core Capabilities (Non-Negotiable) * Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience  * 3-5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst with strong exposure to the SDLC  * Strong understanding of software development concepts and environments  * Proven experience working in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams  * Ability to work as a team and autonomously   * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines  * Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical      stakeholders  * Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyse, and document requirements clearly and effectively  * Creative and innovative with a passion for continuous improvement  * Strong problem-solving and criticalthinking capability  * Proven ability to write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria  * Experience facilitating workshops andstakeholder discussions  * Ability to visualise and communicate concepts using tools such as Miro (or similar)  * Australian Citizen (Eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance)   Desirable * An Interest and/or experience working within aviation, defence, or other highly regulated environments, with anappreciation for complex operational systems and legacy product modernisation.  * Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members  * Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and data flows    Technical Skills * Azure DevOps (or similar backlog management tools)  * SQL (basic querying for analysis purposes)  * Microsoft Office suite  * Experience with user documentation and knowledge management tools  * Experience with visual collaboration and design tools (e.g. Miro, Figma) Requirements Gathering   & Business Analytics * Consult with stakeholders to produce the business requirements for product enhancements and participate in   generating client solutions using Ocean products  * Analyse stakeholder requirements to identify implicit and detailed functional requirements * Resolve conflicting requirements and clarify ambiguities * Structure and prioritise business   requirements and communicate plans to stakeholders for review and approval Functional Design & Product Enhancement * Design new quality system features and frameworks for products and/or projects on budget and within agreed timelines  * Develop and recommend enhancements to existing systems and functionality * Contribute to solution design to ensure alignment with business and functional requirements * Support the Engineering Lead in functional analysis activities Delivery, Testing & Quality Assurance * Ensure newly developed functionality meets business and functional requirements * Conduct end-to end testing where required to validate system performance and outcomes * Maintain and upgrade existing system documentation as required * Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure solutions are viable, consistent and fit for purpose Collaboration & Stakeholder Management * Work closely with delivery teams, Business Analysts, Project Leads, Developers, and IT team to resolve issues   and deliver effective solutions * Positively influence internal teams to meet customer needs and project outcomes * Facilitate stakeholder discussions to support requirement clarity and alignment * Engage and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders * Conduct showcases to demonstrate new functionality Documentation & Knowledge Management * Maintain, update and improve system and product documentation * Produce external client facing business documentation to support product delivery * Create and maintain system guidelines, manuals, and knowledge resources for the organisation * Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned to delivered functionality Training, Workshops & Enablement * Prepare and deliver training sessions and workshops on systems processes where required  * Support knowledge transfer across teams and stakeholders * Assist in building user understanding and adoption of system functionality Continuous Improvement & Innovation * Research emerging technologies to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness * Proactively identify and contribute to product, system and process improvements * Support team discussions focussed on quality, innovation and better ways of working
