Daikin Applied is seeking a highly analytical and improvement-driven Business Analyst with a Process Industrial Engineering background to support key initiatives across our HVAC engineering operations. This role is responsible for mapping current-state business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting Lean and Six Sigma projects across various departments. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and process excellence. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within HVAC or a related industry
  • Experience with Lean principles and Six Sigma tools; Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred
  • Proficient in process mapping, SIPOC development, and business process analysis
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Minitab)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate process issues and solutions
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HVAC or industrial manufacturing background
  • Experience supporting or leading continuous improvement initiatives with measurable impact
  • Exposure to ISO or quality management systems

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and map current business processes using tools such as SIPOC diagrams, value stream mapping, and process flowcharts
  • Analyze existing workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and propose solutions using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline operations and eliminate waste
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized processes and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement projects from ideation to execution and validation
  • Translate business needs into actionable requirements and process improvements
  • Serve as a key contributor to process documentation, SOP creation, and metric tracking
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders with clear communication and supporting data
  • Contribute to Kaizen events, root cause analysis (RCA), and PDCA cycles
