Overview:

Knowledge Services is seeking a remote Business Analyst for a contract through the end of June 2026 (potential for extension) with the State of Maine Office of Technology.

  • Applicants may work 100% remotely.
  • Applicants MUST POSSESS prior experience in either State government or non-profit
  • We are unable to consider any candidates requiring C2C or sponsorship for a work visa

Responsibilities:

Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • The PMO requires professionals who can be assigned to various state departments in Maine according to project requirements.
  • This position directly reports to the PMO Director of Transformation Management.
  • The core responsibilities include conducting detailed business requirements analysis, documenting processes, and possibly performing user acceptance testing adhering to industry best practices.
  • Success in this role necessitates strong analytical skills and the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Candidates must exhibit a systematic approach to business analysis, be collaborative, and possess excellent communication skills to articulate intricate concepts clearly, fostering transparency and open lines of communication.
  • The Business Analyst will collaborate closely with various teams to define business requirements that align with the project’s objectives.
  • Work with the Project Manager to establish a clear project pathway and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Conduct ‘Gap Analysis’ by designing current-state and future-state business.

Qualifications:

Business Analyst Required Skills:

  • Prior experience with state government, non-profit is required.
  • Must have experience and proficiency in business process modeling, business requirements gathering, and gap analysis.
  • Must have experience with UAT & Documentation.
  • Must have experience with process workflows, as well as executing business requirements gathering workshops to identify opportunities for process improvement, pinpoint process bottlenecks, and eliminate redundancies.
  • Experience developing comprehensive functional and non-functional business requirements for solution planning.
  • Experience conducting thorough investigations and documentation of clearly defined business rules as part of process mapping activities.
  • Highly proficient in business process modeling and gap analysis.
  • Proficient with all Office 365 products, specifically Excel for data/gap analysis tasks and Visio for process map design.
  • Able to work independently and autonomously on assigned deliverables, utilizing time management and prioritization skills.
