Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst – Tax Location: Warsaw Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office At AstraZeneca, we put patients first and strive to meet their unmet needs worldwide. Business Analyst – Tax will be part of a team of Analysts working in the Tax Team. The key objectives of the role are to ensure AstraZeneca complies with all VAT legislation and minimizes where legally possible its VAT payments. To provide support on VAT matters to all relevant areas of the Business. In relation to the above maintain appropriate controls and systems to satisfy legal and compliance requirements. To support other members of the team, where appropriate, to ensure that objectives of Group Taxation are achieved. Key deliverables Prepare UK and EU VAT returns along with related VAT compliance fillings (Intrastat and Sales Listing), while ensuring compliance and accuracy. Perform month-end activities around the VAT accounting including the VAT account reconciliations. Support Group Tax in UK with information for ad hoc requests. Participate in Indirect Tax projects. Implement quality checks and support VAT reporting automation. Work collaboratively with the outsource provider and other Finance stakeholders to support compliance with local tax requirements. Essential Qualified finance professional or equivalent, with 3+ years of experience in taxes. English Language proficiency, both verbal and written, with the confidence to express clear opinions and ability to explain financial issues to non-financial management. Analytical skills, attention to detail with a process improvement mindset. Ability to use IT effectively. Ability to manage and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organized manner. Ability to work to tight deadlines. Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams. A passion for customers, self-motivation and a commitment to teamwork are key. Personal development will be a key part of the role and you will be supported to develop yourself and your skills whilst in the role. Preferred SAP experience. Experience working with the international movement of goods and VAT. Experience of working in pharma industry.
