REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal and communication skills with a comfort presenting requirements, recommendations and solutions to varying levels of management, including in some cases executives.
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering and documentation with strong attention to accuracy and details.

Responsibilities

JOB FUNCTION AND KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Finance Technology team within the Controllers’ is looking for a Business Analyst with a
minimum of 5 years’ experience within the accounting or finance landscape. The Finance Technology team is a trusted partner to the Finance organization working to identify solutions for the execution of strategic initiatives and critical business functions regarding process efficiency, data accessibility, governance and service provider relationship management.
The Business Analyst position is responsible for coordinating business requirements for changes to
business processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst understands business
problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and partners with the business to evaluate solutions. The position navigates across functional and technical boundaries to facilitate relationships and
translate business needs into finance and technology solutions.

This position will support many strategic projects across Finance and Controllers’ including:

  • Continued Integration to support acquisitions.
  • Upgrades across the financial systems landscape.
  • Various enhancements which range from small efforts to multi-year programs.
  • Be an integral member of the team working on the general ledger upgrade.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Interact with business, conduct analysis, and document business processes, workflow and requirements.
  • Solicit business and system requirements using walk-through, document analysis, use case scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Understand the success criteria defined by the business or recognize when the business lacks a clear vision of success criteria. Ensure alignment is achieved for success criteria and continually validate scope and requirements against the agreed upon objectives.
  • Write clear and concise requirements ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, feasible, unambiguous, traceable, and verifiable.
  • Responsible for business requirements, functional requirements, non-functional requirements, data requirements, and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret business requirements into functional requirements and specifications that have an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by the technology teams.
  • Ability to work with our business and technical partners to achieve an efficient and effective solution with holistic view across internal and external systems.
  • Verify that the solution meets the business, compliance and technical requirements.
  • Support business and technology teams to ensure key deliverables are met in an accurate timely manner.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and assist in the troubleshooting of problems and issues; make recommendations and provide alternative solutions when applicable.
