Description
Description Help shape the future of ERP at Steel Warehouse. We are hiring a Business Systems Analyst to join our PLEX/INVEX ERP team. This is a high-impact role focused on bridging the gap between business operations and technology — helping us improve processes, scale smarter, and successfully deliver ERP implementations across multiple locations. If you’re the type of person who can walk the floor, talk to the business, translate needs into system-ready requirements, and help drive solutions all the way through testing and go-live, you’ll thrive here. What You’ll Do: In this role, you’ll work closely with business stakeholders, IT teammates, and implementation partners to: Lead discovery and requirements gathering using strong interviewing and analysis skills Document current-state (“as-is”) workflows, then drive alignment toward a future-state (“to-be”) process Translate business needs into functional design specifications for complex solutions Map requirements through delivery to ensure traceability and minimize rework Identify solution options and evaluate them for technical feasibility + business value Partner with developers and testers to ensure solutions are technically sound and user-friendly Create and execute test plans, coordinate system integration testing, and validate results Support end-user adoption through training, documentation, and hands-on support Mentor and train team members on Plex/Invex Contribute to project scoping, effort estimates, and cost-benefit analysis Work within a project management methodology and help manage delivery expectations (scope, schedule, budget) Requirements Travel: This role includes up to 25% travel, with higher travel expectations during implementation and go-live periods. What You Bring: We’re looking for someone who combines ERP experience with strong business instincts and communication skills, including: 3–5 years of ERP implementation experience (required) Knowledge of Plex and/or Invex a plus. Experience with cloud-based ERP systems Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong documentation skills (requirements, specs, training guides, user manuals) Confidence working across all levels — business users, leadership, technical teams, and vendors Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize needs, and influence decisions Comfort working with Microsoft Office tools and collaboration platforms like SharePoint Why This Role Matters: This isn’t a “sit back and take notes” analyst role. You’ll be a key driver of ERP success — helping teams align on priorities, improving how the business runs day-to-day, and ensuring solutions work for end users across the organization.
Responsibilities
This role involves leading discovery and requirements gathering, documenting current and future state workflows, and translating business needs into functional design specifications for complex ERP solutions. The analyst will also partner with developers and testers, create test plans, and support end-user adoption through training and documentation.
