The Opportunity
Join us in this Max-Term 12 month opportunity as a Business Analyst with a specialisation in reporting and data analytics, you’ll play an important role in the TPG acquisition supported by and reporting to the Mission Lead for Customer Operations within the wider Integration Management Office (IMO). Working closely with senior leaders across the operations teams, you will provide traditional business analyst support as well as reporting analysis and enablement and support for organisational change management activities.
You will have the ability to identify connections and dependencies across other business processes and teams within the IMO and across the wider business, proactively identify risk mitigation strategies and have the confidence and experience from previous integrations experience to work to desired outcomes in a collaborative environment.
A working knowledge of telecommunications operations is required and previous experience at Vocus is highly regarded.
What you’ll be doing day to day
- Work with business representatives, owners & key stakeholders to assess business context, objectives and needs and deliver business discovery outputs. (e.g. business context analysis, current and future state analysis, gap analysis etc.)
- Review existing reporting and provide insights in a concise, business-relevant format
- Analysing and understanding different data sets with the intent to plan for and deliver consolidation
- Develop dashboards, scorecards and visualisations to support management decision-making
- Work with business representatives to elicit, document, and validate a common understanding of business requirements
- Work with business and technical teams to breakdown initiatives into customer/end-user focused components/functionality that have business value
- Define a stakeholder engagement approach for the business analysis work to be undertaken to ensure right expectation setting with stakeholders. Work with the project, change management where applicable.
- Develop user and functional requirements (user stories) and validate if solutions designed meet these requirements.
- Perform current and future state analysis to identify gaps, inform solution design and help develop solutions that meet business needs and/or improve business processes. (Business Process Design)
- Ensure that impacts to technical and business operations due to change are analysed, understood, and articulated, risks are assessed and raised with project management.
- Support the development, refinement and prioritization of technical requirements/stories when required, working with technical/functional analysts and/or developers.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholder groups, serving as a liaison point to ensure clear understanding of business needs, objectives, and requirements and faithful representation of these when collaborating with other teams.
- Utilize standard BA tools and techniques to apply to BA deliverables and representation and documentation of BA outputs.
- Work with change management/project management to enable technical and business operational handover activities.
- Develop user guides, work instructions, process documentation and other assets where required.
- Support training content development where required.
- Identify, track and report on BA activity status, risks, issues, and dependencies.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Solid experience as a Business Analyst and/or a Data/Reporting Analyst.
- Exposure to and experience with Telecom value chain processes (Sales, Delivery, Assurance, Billing) necessary.
- Demonstrated understanding of both business and technical requirements in large/complex projects/programs, providing solutions effectively.
- Ability to execute responsibilities of the role independently and proactively.
- Hands on experience developing visual representations, at various levels of detail for varied audiences.
- Experience working with tools like Lucid or Visio and process mapping techniques such as BPMN, context diagrams, customer journey mappings and other similar.
- Telecommunications sector experience desirable.
- Experience working with platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow or similar CRM, Billing, Digital platforms desirable.
- Ability to facilitate large workshops involving a variety of Business and IT stakeholders.
- Ability to confidently communicate and negotiate with stakeholders at various levels of the business and drive positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), documentation, and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively follow up and track information.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise conflicting demands.
- Ability to learn and adapt and operate with an Agile BA mindset and Agile BA tools and techniques.
- Experience working with Agile BA tools and techniques (desirable)
- Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile (desirable)
- Ability and flexibility to rapidly learn new methodologies and technologies.
- A proactive approach, showing initiative and pragmatism.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, sharing ideas and encouraging others to participate.
- A collaborative and a transparent approach to people interactions.
