Patrick Mechanical Ltd. is a Sudbury based mechanical contracting company founded in 1989. Over the years, we have established ourselves in the industrial, commercial, and institutional contracting fields. Our specialties include mechanical contracting, custom steel fabrication, plumbing, heating, process piping, millwright, and related services. Patrick Mechanical is a growing, dynamic, and innovative mechanical company with an extensive fleet of skilled workers allowing us to offer services all over Northern Ontario. This position will provide services to the Patrick Group of Companies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is required.
  • A Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), or equivalent designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in procurement, asset coordination, or a similar operational role.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing, purchasing processes, and vendor management.
  • Asset Management: Experience with inventory systems and asset tracking tools, including tagging, lifecycle management, and maintenance coordination.
  • Ability to analyze quotes, contracts, cost data, and asset performance to make data-driven decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple procurement orders, timelines, and inventory updates simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and internal departments.
  • Proactive in identifying issues in the supply chain or asset lifecycle and developing practical solutions.
  • Time Management: Capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Understanding of procurement regulations, internal policies, and audit procedures.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities
  • Source and evaluate quotes from approved vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved budgets and project timelines.
  • Monitor order progress, follow up on deliveries, and address any delays or discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and vendor contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast and plan procurement needs.
  • Register and tag new assets, including tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Maintain and regularly update the asset inventory database to reflect accurate status and location.
  • Monitor the usage, condition, and lifecycle of assets to support operational readiness.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and end-of-life disposal in compliance with company protocols.
  • Support internal and external audits through asset reconciliation and reporting.
  • Assist in the development of procurement and asset availability schedules aligned with project milestones.
  • Work closely with operations and project managers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Anticipate lead times and plan orders to prevent delays in workflows.
  • Participate in planning meetings to align procurement timelines with construction or operational schedules.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize inventory levels and avoid overstock or shortages.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, contracts, and relevant regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation to support audits and internal reviews.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activity, cost analysis, and asset performance metrics.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communications and negotiations.
  • Monitor supplier performance, address issues proactively, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality service and pricing advantages.
