Eastlake High School
Eastlake High School, home of the Wolves, is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Business and Marketing Teacher (1.0 FTE) to join our high school Career and Technical Education (CTE) team for 2025-2026. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing students for college, careers, and financial literacy through engaging, real-world instruction. This position currently is scheduled to teach Personal Finance, Accounting, and Microsoft Office Systems (subject to change), and will involve active participation in DECA, a co-curricular business leadership organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a CTE Business & Marketing endorsement (or ability to obtain). For Washington State CTE certification requirements please visit: http://www.k12.wa.us/certification/CTE/InitialCTE.aspx
  • Relevant industry experience or strong content knowledge in business, finance, and technology applications.
  • Experience with or interest in advising DECA or similar student leadership organizations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to collaboration, student success, and continuous professional growth.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience teaching at the secondary level.
  • Familiarity with DECA competition guidelines and business-related curriculum.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in courses such as Personal Finance, Accounting, and Microsoft Office Systems.
  • Collaborate with fellow CTE teachers to design interdisciplinary and project-based learning opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and support for our DECA chapter, including competition preparation, event coordination, and travel supervision.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, teamwork, professionalism, and student engagement.
  • Integrate technology and industry-standard tools to enhance instruction and career readiness.
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Stay current on industry trends, certifications, and CTE best practices.
  • Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school events.
