Description:
One of our Government clients is looking for a Business Architect (Zachman Framework, TOGAF exp.)
Length: 12 months contract with a possibility of extension
TOP SKILLS
- Develop enterprise architecture deliverables and artifacts in alignment with Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practices.
- Proficiency in frameworks such as the Zachman Framework, TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), or other relevant frameworks.
- Deep understanding of diverse business environments, with a focus on government settings, including familiarity with key business drivers in these contexts.
- Understanding of data modeling principles and techniques, including entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs) and data flow diagrams.
GENERAL SKILLS:
- Mastery of various methods, techniques, and tools for business architecture, including but not limited to business functional modeling, service lifecycle modeling, business event modeling, business process mapping, and value chain analysis.
- Deep understanding of diverse business environments, with a focus on government settings, including familiarity with key business drivers in these contexts.

- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and consensus-building skills essential for effective stakeholder management and project execution.
- Demonstrated experience as a business architect, adept at modeling business structures at both enterprise and core business levels for medium to large organizations.
- Proficiency in the Zachman Framework, encompassing business, information, application, technology, and security architectures.
- Ability to advocate for and promote I&IT project management best practices, ensuring adherence to standard methodologies for successful project delivery.
- Proactive identification of potential risk events and issues, with the ability to develop mitigating strategies to circumvent challenges.
- Aptitude in articulating and prioritizing issues and risks at senior executive levels, recommending mitigation strategies, and employing effective change management strategies throughout project lifecycles.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Experience working within public sector or large corporate environments, with an understanding of the unique challenges and constraints faced in these settings.
- Demonstrated experience in crafting enterprise architecture deliverables compliant with Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE - 30%:
- Knowledge of information technology systems and infrastructure, with the ability to integrate IT solutions to address business needs.
- Understanding of data modeling principles and techniques, including entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs) and data flow diagrams.
- Experience in change management processes and practices, including strategies for overcoming resistance to change and driving adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Awareness of emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry like Cloud technologies, with the ability to assess their potential impact on business architecture and strategy.
- Experience in supporting business transformation initiatives by designing target operating models, defining transition states, and developing implementation roadmaps.
- Knowledge of architectural governance principles and practices, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
BUSINESS ARCHITECT EXPERIENCE - 40%:
- Proficiency in frameworks such as the Zachman Framework, TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), or other relevant frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables and artifacts, such as models, adhering to Enterprise Architecture processes and practice.
- Hands-on Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables, such as architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and solution architectures.
- Awareness of information security principles and best practices, including security architecture and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders across different business units and levels.
- Experience in effectively managing stakeholders, including facilitating workshops, conducting interviews, and building consensus among diverse groups.
- Experience in supporting business transformation initiatives by designing target operating models, defining transition states, and developing implementation roadmaps.

Responsibilities:
