Business Case Analyst, Benefits and Finance Government department project via a consultancy UK-based, ideally London Hybrid, ideally 1 day per week in the London office Initial 4 to 5 week contract, likely extension Start date: 2 March 2026 Vantage Point Global is supporting a government department on a short-term project, and we are looking for analysts who can start quickly and add value from day one. This assignment focuses on calculating business case benefits. We are looking for people who are comfortable working with numbers, assumptions, and evidence, and who can help shape clear, credible benefit models for decision-making. This is an initial 4 to 5-week contract, but projects like this often extend. We can be flexible on grade for the right people, as long as you bring relevant experience in finance, accounting, business cases, or benefits calculation. What you will be doing Support the calculation and validation of benefits within business cases Work with stakeholders to gather inputs, assumptions, and supporting evidence Build and maintain clear benefit calculations, trackers, and working papers Review financial and operational data to support benefit estimates Challenge assumptions where needed and improve the quality of the numbers Document methodology, logic, and outputs in a clear and audit friendly way Help prepare materials for internal review and governance discussions Support ad hoc analysis across finance, business case, or benefits workstreams What we are looking for 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or more Strong numerical and analytical skills Comfortable working in Excel and handling structured data Able to explain calculations and assumptions clearly to non finance stakeholders Good attention to detail, especially in short deadline environments Available to interview during w/c 23 February, and to start on 2 March UK based Experience in one or more of the following: Finance Accounting Business case development Benefits calculation or benefits realisation Nice to have Previous experience working in a government department Experience supporting public sector business cases Exposure to benefits realisation frameworks or business case methodologies Why this role?
