Description

Role Purpose: Develop comprehensive business cases, including strategic assessments, financial modeling, and implementation plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed, evidence-based business cases aligned with Ontario Northland’s goals.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis, risk assessments, and economic evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to align business cases with organizational objectives.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into deliverables.
  • Monitor KPIs and ensure the business case is actionable and practical.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration; MBA is an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in business case development or strategic planning.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, economic analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Experience working with public sector organizations or transportation agencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in tools like Excel, Tableau, or similar software for financial and data analysis.

Detailed Business Cases: Deliver comprehensive cases that include:
Initial Business Cases: Work with stakeholders to develop well-structured, evidence-based business cases from the ground up.
Objectives
The primary goals of the engagement are:

Support Business Case Development:

  • Assist in creating evidence-based business cases aligned with Ontario Northland’s organizational objectives.
  • Help complete partially developed business cases to ensure consistency with strategic goals.

Expert Analysis and Recommendations:

  • Provide insights and recommendations for specific business case projects or sections as needed.

Responsibilities of the Consultant

Business Case Development:

  • Strategic assessments.
  • Economic and financial evaluations, such as:
  • Risk assessments.
  • Implementation plans.
  • Cost-benefit analyses.
  • Key performance indicators (KPIs).

Completion of Existing Business Cases: Review and finalize cases in progress to align with Ontario Northland’s objectives and standards.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and focus groups with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the development of deliverables reflects organizational needs.
  • Present drafts and final deliverables for feedback and approval.

Deliverables

Completed Business Cases:

  • Final versions of new and partially developed business cases.

Ad-Hoc Reports:

  • Specific analyses, sections, or recommendations requested by Ontario Northland.

Status Updates:

  • Provide regular updates on the progress of tasks and assignments.
