Description
As a member of the healthcare team, the Business Clerk provides support to patients, families and members of the Healthcare Team. Responsibilities include patient reception, registration, scheduling, statistical data, management, billings, telephone communications, supply and document management and filing. Functions according to the job description for the Endoscopy Business Clerk. Commercial/Business/Secretarial College Diploma/Certificate or equivalent office experience Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing Demonstrated experience with Meditech - registration, scheduling, material management etc. Mathematical skills related to payroll, budget and statistics. Proficiency with MS office and Teletracking preferred. Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role with a knowledge of endoscopy procedures and processes Keyboarding of at least 40 wpm Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position Knowledge and skill with office procedures and equipment such as fax, photocopier, label printer, multiple phone lines, computer etc. Demonstrated ability to interact with adult and pediatric patients and their families, with patience, courtesy and tact. Ability to demonstrate attributes that contribute to a respectful, caring environment Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), documentation, interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork skills Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks in a fast paced multidisciplinary setting
