We are seeking a versatile and results-driven Business Consultant to join our Enterprise AML team withing Technology & Operations. This role plays a key part in advancing the organization’s strategic vision while supporting critical initiatives across multiple pillars of our Strategic Initiative Group.
The Business Consultant leads requirements gathering by working closely with stakeholders to identify needs and document clear, actionable solutions. They ensure alignment with business goals and maintain strong relationships across business and technology teams.

Accountabilities

  • Consult and collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders to better understand the business requirements, and technical intricacies of software applications.
  • Identifies sources of requirements, interfaces, and affected business stakeholders based on high-level process description, user stories or scenarios.
  • Facilitates information gathering sessions, including leading discussions, managing group dynamics, and maintaining group focus, to work towards accomplishing the stated goal(s) of the session within the context of the project objectives.
  • Captures and formalizes requirements from stakeholders sessions for use throughout the project life cycle.
  • Engages in project reviews and inspections alongside the team to validate the integrity and quality of deliverables.
  • Managing, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to support business decisions throughout project lifecycle.
  • Apply creative problem-solving and subject matter expertise to address complex, ambiguous, or non-routine challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party vendors, to ensure alignment and successful delivery of business objectives.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Have a strong business acumen with a post-secondary degree in information systems, computer science or business administration
  • Generally, 7+ years progressive business analysis experience, supporting medium to large size projects.
  • Possesses analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understands complete Software Development Life Cycle and can apply the applicable portions of the ‘Feasibility,’ ‘Requirements,” and ‘Analysis’ phases.
  • Demonstrates writing and documentation skills.
  • Adept at acting as a liaison between business units and IT, facilitating requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation.
  • Skilled in data analysis and profiling, with a strong ability to identify root causes and collaborate with Solution Architects to develop effective solutions.
  • Adept at performing data mapping between source to target systems to ensure consistency and accuracy across platforms.
  • Hands-on collaborator with a track record of delivering results in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Skilled in designing process flow and data flow diagrams to visualize system operations and business processes.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting large data set using Microsoft Excel and related analytical tools
  • Proficiency in SQL at an intermediate level

PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

  • Have an understanding for the financial services industry and its products specifically Payments, Wires/Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Online-Banking, Credit Cards/Debit Cards, Cheques
