Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A BUSINESS CONTROL MANAGER?

As a Business Control Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Financial Reporting & Analysis workstream, Data Analytics, Insurance & Risk Management, Land Leases, Sustainability Reporting and Stock Management. The role is key to the development of financial management tools or business dashboards for management in making informed decisions.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

  • Create a plan to deliver and review financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
  • Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of the financial management and/or control process.
  • Act as the owner of actual financial results, Budget and Latest Estimates (LE)
  • Responsible to ensure that actual financial results are meeting or better than Budget
  • Responsible and to ensure accurate projections of financial performance
  • Lead and drive effort in Data Analytics through visualization and dashboarding
  • Develop deliverables and KPIs for FP&A
  • Plan, execute and monitor accordingly to ensure all deliverables and KPIs are met
  • Resolve any related issues that affects deliverables and performance of KPIs
  • Responsible for financial evaluation and financial modeling of Investment Proposal to ensure meeting of targeted IRR
  • Responsible for driving the accounting of Operating Capex Spend to meet annual target
  • Lead and drive effort to obtain investment incentives from EDB or IRAS
  • Lead effort for Finance function to ensure proper Control and Governance are in place for high standards of Sustainability Reporting and Stock Management integrity
  • Lead the team on Internal and external audit process and follow-up
  • Main liaison with JTC and MapleTree for related matters
  • Responsible for IFRS 16 reporting requirements
  • Lead and develop regular business partnering review and operating rhythm with terminals and functions to ensure full potential realization of financial performance
  • Lead, develop and plan actions to perform rigorous analysis of business performance through benchmarking and performance metrics
  • Lead, develop and plan for actions implement breakthrough initiatives that enhance performance of the business to maximize Operating Cash Return
  • Develop tools or dashboards for Leadership team to make informed decision
  • Drive the process for prioritizing capital allocation
  • Develop deliverables and monitor KPIs for business partnering engagements
  • Assess sustainability performance and drive initiatives around reducing utility consumption
  • Lead and plan financial system upgrades, conversion or improvements
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement initiatives in respective workstream
  • Demonstrate progressive effort and outcome in preserving and creating value
  • Train, coach and guide the Business Control team members in operational efficiency
  • Manage and develop people to ensure a cohesive and motivated team
  • Responsible for developing direct reports
  • Support overall talent development effort in Finance team
  • Develop and implement sustainable resource back-up plan or BCP
  • Lead and encourage team members in a positive manner to adapt to changes in the company’s direction
  • Develop a performance culture, people development and training in alignment with the local businesses and Human Resources guidelines with the aim to be future ready
