The COO Data Office strives for a competitive edge in data delivery to have data at APG AM’s fingertips. The objective of the Data Office is to enhance APG AM’s data operating model, simplify the data architecture and
leverage best practices. This does not solely aim to bring data under governance but also aims to optimize data delivery and distribution through building a shared Data Platform where both CIO-CMI, CIO-PMI and
COO can compute, transform and obtain data faster and simpler. The Data Sourcing & Distribution (DSD) team is responsible for onboarding key data domains on the data platform, distributing data, and capturing information about the available data in the Data Shop. They also monitor that the necessary data for the use cases is available in the data platform, with the key data domains as the main focus. Data Sourcing & Distribution designs and implements processes and systems to ensure that data is distributed efficiently and effectively and flows freely through the various layers to users.
The role
We are looking for a dynamic, data-driven and proactive Business Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be at the heart of driving digitalization and delivering impactful reporting and analytical products for
various clients. You will take ownership of strategic initiatives, proactively ensure the alignment of key projects with organizational goals, and lead complex, cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate is
someone with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to support performance attribution, risk analysis, and exposure reporting. This role involves leveraging analytical tools and solutions to provide insights that aid portfolio management, client reporting, and investment decision-making.
What you would do
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across departments with APG AM to understand and address their informational needs, translating these into functional and technical requirements. Develop understanding of

ingested data, metrics, choose appropriate data models and design robust ETL/ELT pipelines together with our data engineers and developers. As part of the cross functional way of working and driving the digitalization agenda forward, you’ll act as a subject matter expert in the DSD value stream cross-departmentally in MDTs and Digipods, for the DSD value stream.

  • Act as a linking pin between the team members, Tech Office, investment desks and contribute to topics on strategic architecture and design.
  • Perform large scale data & systems analysis.
  • Manage and own significant pieces of project deliverables end-to-end from the initial demand, all the way to testing and securing sign-off on the agreed solution and delivering to production.
  • Draft functional and technical requirements for information products, utilizing iterative prototyping for business analysis.
  • Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data findings effectively

What you bring

The ideal candidate will have experience in Performance Attribution & Reporting, Risk analysis, building data pipelines, dashboards and code automation.

  • Degree in as econometrics / mathematics / data science or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications such as CFA, FRM are a plus).
  • Strong background in data analytics and digital transformation with at least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst within Equities domain.
  • Highly developed communication skills in English.
  • Experience in working with performance of ‘user stories’ with a high degree of complexity in terms of impact on the company, risk level, technical complexity and innovative content.
  • SQL and Python skills; Azure and/or Databricks experience desired.
  • Experience with financial data management tools and portfolio management systems is pre
  • Cross-disciplinary thinking, integrating business knowledge with technical expertise to solve complex challenges.
  • Knowledge of equity markets and Instruments
