OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Analyst / Business Analyst to join our team. This hybrid role combines expertise in data analysis, business analysis, and advanced visualisation to support organisational decision-making and employee development. The ideal candidate will excel at interpreting complex datasets, developing interactive tools such as Gantt charts for career progression, and supporting strategic initiatives through actionable insights and innovative solutions.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and creating insights-driven reports.
  • Expertise in data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Experience creating interactive Gantt charts with tools like Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
  • Familiarity with database design principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of VBA programming for automation is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to present complex data in a clear, actionable manner.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with HR analytics, career development frameworks, or talent management strategies.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Python or R for advanced data analysis.
  • Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles for creating intuitive and engaging tools.
Responsibilities
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Gantt charts to visualise employee pathways, career progression, and project timelines.
  • Incorporate file integration capabilities into visual tools, ensuring seamless access to supporting documents like training plans and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure data-driven strategies align with organisational goals.
  • Design and maintain databases to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and efficient data management practices.
  • Develop and automate reports and dashboards using SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Utilise VBA programming to automate repetitive tasks and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), contributing data requirements and analysis during project planning phases.
  • Conduct business analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency across departments.
  • Predict future trends based on historical data analysis to support strategic planning and workforce development.
