WHAT WE DO AT BLYKALLA

Blykalla is a Swedish producer of advanced small modular reactors (SMRs). Our design is based on 25+ years of research, which we are now taking to market. A perfect complement to intermittent energy sources, our goal is to provide the baseload energy necessary to enable a full transition to a fossil-free future.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. A Master-, MBA, or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Significant experience in consultative high-tech business development and experience in the energy sector is a plus, not a requirement
  • Ability to deal with and shape work with a high degree of ambiguity, you prefer creating something some scratch rather than asking how things are done historically
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Possess strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down and interpret complex market data into actionable insights.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, taking initiative to get things done. Experience in a startup or scale-up is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

As a Business Developer, you will drive growth by identifying business opportunities, forming strategic alliances, and securing project collaborations. You will work with industrial energy users, data centers, and energy companies to develop commercial agreements. With your business acumen and passion for clean energy, you will help deploy small modular reactors worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Development – Identify and secure business opportunities through partnerships with energy companies and industrial large energy user
  • Financial modelling - ensure the company’s evolving cost estimates are kept track of and can be translated into business models and quotes for customers
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy – Conduct market research to assess market development, customer needs, and competition, translating insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Proposal & Project Development – Collaborate with engineering teams to develop tailored business proposals, project plans, and feasibility studies on how to tailor Blykalla’s solution and value proposition to our key customer segments
  • Industry Representation & Networking – Represent Blykalla at industry events to enhance visibility and expand professional networks.
  • Internal Strategy & Advisory – Support senior management with data-driven insights on market positioning, business growth, and competitive strategy.
