REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced financial modeling and economic evaluation skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
  • Exceptionally high level of focus on quality of work and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven record of project management and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team orientation balanced with the ability to work autonomously on projects and initiatives.
  • Three to seven years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in the energy industry related to refined products, renewables, crude oil, and NGLs would be considered an asset.
  • Relevant designations such as CFA, CPA or CBV, or working toward a designation, is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Perform project execution activities including:
  • Build and maintain complex financial models.
  • Analyze project alternatives to support “build vs. buy” decisions and asset optimization.
  • Track capital expenditures and project pipelines.
  • Conceptualize projects and lead them through to the execution stage.
  • Monitor project schedules and related tasks to ensure on-time completion.
  • Liaise between the various Parkland business units.
  • Conduct research and analysis into a variety of business development initiatives including, new activities, new markets/commodities that lead to strategic Supply & Trading opportunities.
  • Coordinate strategic planning and assess business environment for areas of opportunity within the Supply & Trading team.
  • Prepares investment recommendation materials for transaction approval by Parkland’s Senior Leadership Team.
  • Complete valuations of business development initiatives by applying business valuation principles and practices.
  • Support the Parkland Supply & Trading teams on broader corporate initiatives and Senior Leadership updates.
