POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and well-connected Business Development Construction Associate to help deepen our client base within construction. This is a unique role for an outgoing, self-motivated individual with strong industry relationships who is looking to grow in a challenging and rewarding role within a boutique legal firm. This individual will be provided with support and access to a list of current corporate relationships and leads as a head start, to ensure they are setup for success.
As the key driver of growth in this area, you will be responsible for connecting with small to mid-sized construction companies, general contractors, and suppliers with a leading construction law firm known for its deep expertise and trusted reputation. In addition, responsibilities may include creating proposals, working with the Director to set-up unique industry-specific programs, new partnerships and working with the lawyers and Accounts Manager to ensure deepening of current client relationships.
Your efforts will ensure our clients receive the legal support they need to operate their businesses with confidence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition (legal or professional services industry experience an asset)
  • Strong network or existing contacts in the construction industry (mandatory)
  • Expert in using CRM tools for planning, tracking and pipeline management (mandatory)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented with a focus on results
  • Familiarity with legal services related to construction (e.g., contracts, disputes, liens) is an asset
  • Comfortable working independently with support from a small, collaborative team
Responsibilities
  • Proactively reach out to current clients in order to deepen relationships, make connections with key contacts within corporations and initiate conversations with new and existing leads
  • Diligently update and manage HubSpot CRM to log all contacts, interactions, follow-ups, and pipeline progress.
  • Foster and deepen client relationships through consistent communication and by understanding their ongoing business legal needs/pain points.
  • Engage actively with current partnerships and construction associations, to strengthen referral networks.
  • Draft customized proposals and pitch presentations for prospective clients, insurers, and strategic partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the construction, real estate, and related industries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, trades, suppliers, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Suggest and implement strategies to improve brand visibility, strengthen partnerships, and grow our client base.
  • Coordinate with legal and management teams to ensure business development efforts align with firm capabilities and priorities.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to generate qualified leads.
  • Track lead generation, conversions, and engagement metrics, and provide regular reports to leadership on pipeline performance.
