Rentokil Initial has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Consultant to join our Auckland team. We are looking for a commercially driven hunter to take ownership of a high-growth birding portfolio across the Upper North Island. This is structural, technical, solution-based selling, working with major commercial sites, industrial facilities, and national brands to deliver permanent building-integrated bird-proofing systems. If you’re commercially sharp, technically credible, and motivated to build a strong install pipeline in a growth market, we want to hear from you. Key responsibilities Drive new and existing business growth for specialist bird services, including structural design, through identification and targeted engagement. Develop, strengthen, and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers and industry stakeholders. Implement strategic, market-driven, and customer-specific sales plans. Manage a long sales cycle and maintain a robust forward pipeline of opportunities. Conduct technical surveys and prepare detailed, accurate proposals and quotes. Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure seamless installation and service delivery, while remaining focused on achieving sales targets. Keep customers informed about new products, services, compliance updates, and relevant market/industry developments. Continuously improve knowledge of the company’s product range, competitor offerings, and general market intelligence to enhance customer interactions. Who we are looking for A true hunter, proactive, confident, comfortable with cold outreach. Great at hitting sales targets and focused on getting results. Resilient and works well under pressure or rejection. Highly organised and disciplined with follow-up. Great at managing your time well and can easily work on your own. Detail-oriented, able to spot small structural risks and compliance considerations. Clear and concise in communication, good at influencing people and building relationships. Adaptable and comfortable in a change-driven corporate environment. Strong admin discipline and can quickly master new computer systems and processes. Ideal experience/background Proven B2B sales experience, ideally in a solution-based or technical field. Experience within the construction or building industry. Prior pest control or birding experience, coupled with a strong commercial focus. Working at heights experience is beneficial but not mandatory. If you enjoy being independent, but also thrive working within a motivated team, working face to face with customers, and have a tenacious can-do approach to sales, then APPLY NOW! Applicants must have the right to live and work permanently or long-term in New Zealand. Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria.
