Job Description The Business Development Director is a senior growth leader within the newly formed Experian Automotive Business Development & Strategic Partnerships group, a team chartered to expand Experian's ecosystem of partners, enhance data commercialization, and lead new market opportunities across the automotive sector. This role is designed for a commercial strategist with an understanding of automotive, finance, and technology markets—someone who brings both an executive rolodex and the leadership presence to engage at the C-suite level. The Director will develop strategic partnerships that strengthen Experian's leadership in automotive intelligence. By collaborating with internal stakeholders and partnering with relevant sales teams, you will ensure that new relationships and initiatives translate into measurable commercial success. This is a high-visibility individual contributor role with broad influence across Experian Automotive's product, data, and go-to-market teams, directly affecting the business's long-term growth strategy. You will report to VP, Product Management. Main Responsibilities Strategic Growth & Market Expansion Identify new revenue opportunities that extend Experian Automotive's reach into emerging markets, data products, and strategic partnerships. Executive Relationship Development Leverage and expand an existing network of executive-level relationships across OEMs, lenders, digital retailers, and technology providers to guide strategic conversations and close transformational deals. Partnership Strategy Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that unlock new revenue streams, data assets, and innovation opportunities. Sales Partnership & Enablement Collaborate with Experian's sales teams to operationalize and execute partnership strategies—ensuring that new agreements are integrated into go-to-market plans and client engagement activities. Collaboration Partner with other teams in product, data, analytics, and technology to design solutions that deliver measurable client and market value. Go-to-Market Development Work with sales and marketing leadership to build compelling value propositions, client-facing materials, and executive presentations that highlight Experian's unique capabilities. Financial & Market Analysis Build financial models and business cases to assess strategic opportunities, forecast ROI, and ensure alignment with long-term goals. Industry Leadership & Representation Represent Experian Automotive at industry events, conferences, and executive roundtables, promoting Experian's role as a thought leader in automotive data and analytics. Executive Communication & Influence Deliver data-driven presentations to senior executives, partners, and internal stakeholders, articulating strategy, financial impact, and partnership value. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred). 10+ years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or strategic partnerships, within automotive, financial services, or data/technology industries. Experience structuring and executing large-scale partnerships or joint ventures. Executive network within the automotive ecosystem and adjacent markets. Functional Expertise Experience with the automotive value chain—OEMs, lenders, dealers, digital marketplaces, and mobility providers. Expertise partnering with sales teams to operationalize strategic initiatives. Experience influencing without authority in complex, matrixed organizations. Represent Experian in senior and board-level discussions. Personal Attributes Strategic, and commercially focused. Collaborative; great at building alignment across diverse all partners. Comfortable driving initiatives from conception through execution. Other Requirements Ability to travel up to 25% to meet with partners, clients, and internal stakeholders. Additional Qualifications Automotive ecosystem business development experience, with a proven track record of engaging OEMs, lenders, marketplaces, and technology providers to drive measurable revenue growth. Background in automotive data, credit, or analytics-driven business models. Expertise using executive networks to establish partnerships. Familiarity with latest technologies such as AI/ML, connected vehicle data, or EV infrastructure. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related experience, and education.
