ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re seeking a scientifically minded Business Development Director to join our growing Biologics team. This role is ideal for an experienced sales professional with a solid background in Biologics Discovery and a deep understanding of the full Biologics development process, from early discovery through to IND submission.
You will use your existing network and proactive outreach to identify new business opportunities and position Pharmaron as the CDMO of choice for prospective clients. You’ll cultivate and sustain strong, profitable partnerships, collaborate closely with scientific teams to shape bespoke proposals, and help translate complex scientific requirements into actionable, client-focused solutions. Your scientific insight will be vital in setting realistic expectations, building trust, and turning conversations into long-term collaborations that drive innovation in the Biologics space.
This is a remote role with regular travel across the UK and Europe, perfect for someone who enjoys working autonomously, takes initiative, and is motivated by achieving results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve agreed-upon sales and profit targets, driving business growth and profitability for Biologics business.
  • Cultivate, manage, and maintain professional relationships with clients, with particular emphasis on their senior management teams.
  • Stay informed about Pharmaron’s growing capabilities in Biologics and related downstream services to engage in informed discussions with clients and prospective clients about our offerings.
  • Work closely with Pharmaron scientists to ensure that client expectations are realistic and achievable, thus ensuring customer satisfaction.


    • With a growing landscape of alternate modalities, identify cross-selling opportunities in collaboration with other Business Development team members driving new areas for business growth

    • Contribute to the development of a compelling Value Proposition, making Pharmaron an attractive choice for clients with pipelines involving Biologics
    • Represent the company professionally in the Biologics space, promoting Pharmaron as a reliable partner capable of delivering high-quality solutions, converting inquiries into profitable contracts.
    • Collaborate with Pharmaron scientists to formulate business proposals and presentations, ensuring that these proposals can be converted into profitable commercial contracts.
    • Identify and utilize sources of information that provide insightful market intelligence within the pharmaceutical industry, sharing this information internally to support strategic decision making in growing the Biologics business .
