JOB DESCRIPTION:

Johnson & Johnson is looking to hire a Business Development Director, NRG, based in Toronto, Ontario. This role will report to the Business Unit Director, Neuroscience, Rare Disease & General Medicine (NRG).

EDUCATION:

  • A minimum of a University degree, preferably in science or business, is required
  • MBA is preferred.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Development Director will be accountable for leading the launch readiness for pipeline products within existing and emerging therapeutic areas, as well as leading or participating in the assessment and valuation of global and/or regional new business opportunities. This unique role will also serve as a key partner to our Therapeutic area forums that will help shape and define long term strategies that impact the portfolio and will be a key leader that holds credibility with the Sales &Marketing organization to champion a culture of compliance and ensuring adherence to policies and practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Asset Development

  • Lead teams in the development of robust, data driven, and launch-readiness plans for a variety of products and therapeutic areas, in alignment with global and local commercial team priorities. Plans encompass all aspects of the Value Excellence Framework including but not limited to regulatory, pricing, access, medical strategy and brand strategy
  • Provide input to the company’s long-range plans by owning the assessment of valuation, risks and opportunities associated with the current and future product pipeline
  • Participate actively on global launch readiness teams including to the development of launch strategies and being a pro-active voice for Canada to ensure Canadian market dynamics are considered
  • Develop positive relationships with external subject matter specialists to understand market dynamics and needs, and to translate into customer centric, launch strategies and plans
  • Partner with in-line Sales and Marketing partners to ensure smooth transition of launch readiness plans to the brands
  • Lead and/or support identified global and/or regional opportunities by leading local cross-functional assessments to ensure relevant input to the valuation of business development opportunities.

Strategic Project Lead at the Therapeutic Area (TA) Forum

  • Shape, lead, and execute strategic cross-functional projects ensuring new processes, capabilities, and technology solutions are fully optimized to deliver long term strategies:
  • Manage portfolio of strategic initiatives by:
  • Maintaining the portfolio, including regular review with senior leaders
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment to maximize the value of the initiative
  • Facilitate prioritization to ensure resources are deployed to the highest-value work

TA Forum Trusted Advisor

  • Serve as a trusted advisor leveraging data, a deep understanding of the external environment and internal capabilities to challenge the status quo and guide TA Forum decision making.
  • Assist the TA Forum in communicating business unit strategy, challenges and opportunities into clear, succinct messages that can be communicated to the enterprise.
  • Create outcomes-focused engaging TA Forum meetings where ideas are debated inclusively and respectively.

Therapeutic Area Compliance Liaison

  • As a compliance liaison and champion, this role promotes and supports business practices and activities that are in compliance with related J&J internal guidelines, local laws and regulations and anticorruption laws including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
  • This role will serve as a trusted partner fostering safe space conversations across the business, assures that the company culture of accountability and compliance is an engrained and natural element in day-to-day business and creates awareness of compliance principles from a business/field perspective and ensures clarity on the rationale.
  • This role will work with the HCC team to implement activities to support the compliance program, including but not exclusive to SOP evolution, supporting training requirements and evolving escalation procedures
