Description

We are looking for a Business Development Director – UK and help shape the future of construction tech. We’re on a mission to eliminate downtime in the industry, and we’re looking for a strategic and driven commercial leader to accelerate our growth in the UK market. In this high-impact role, you’ll play a key part in expanding our ecosystem, unlocking new revenue streams, and driving lasting partnerships across the construction landscape. If you’re passionate about technology, transformation, and turning market potential into tangible success—this is your opportunity to make a difference.
We offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from one of our locations or remotely from anywhere in the UK. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

WHO ARE YOU IDEALLY?

  • 7-10 years of B2B business development or enterprise sales experience, ideally in SaaS, IoT, or construction tech sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals and growing enterprise accounts.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK construction or heavy equipment market; experience selling into rental companies or contractors is a strong advantage.
  • Commercially strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and executive presence.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth, international, and purpose-driven company.
  • Experience using Salesforce and related tools for structured pipeline and account planning.
Don’t meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we’re looking for ideally, but if you are particularly drawn to this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

Don’t waste your time on writing the best possible cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that’s not in the cover letter.

  • Initial phone conversation with a colleague from our People & Talent team to get to know each other a bit better.
  • Virtual meet and greet. Meet with Thomas Spieker, Vice President of Commercial EMEA
  • Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment using use Hogan prior to the interview. Our Hogan assessment enables us to understand your abilities and how you align with our team culture. Instead of seeking ‘appropriate’ responses, the priority is to develop a meaningful exchange that illustrates your synergy with the Trackunit team.
  • Last interview with relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
  • Offer presentation and walk-through. We’re lucky to have you!
Responsibilities

Strategic Market Expansion

  • Shape and lead the UK go-to-market strategy in alignment with Trackunit’s global business goals and vertical growth focus.
  • Identify and prioritise new growth segments, strategic partnerships, and rental opportunities.
  • Lead long-term market mapping and opportunity analysis in construction technology and related ecosystems.

    Sales Leadership

  • Drive complex deal cycles from discovery through contract negotiation, targeting fleet owners, rental companies, and enterprise accounts.

  • Personally manage high-value accounts and influence procurement decision.
  • Develop account penetration strategies and multi-stakeholder engagement plans across strategic customers.
  • Deliver consistently on Quota and commercial objectives

Ecosystem and Partnerships

  • Forge commercial alliances and integration partnerships that contribute to the Trackunit ecosystem vision.
  • Represent Trackunit in UK-based industry events, consortiums, and innovation forums to elevate our thought leadership and market position.

    Cross-functional Alignment & Execution

  • Work closely with Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and Strategy teams to tailor propositions and ensure a strong product-market fit.

  • Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for product development and GTM refinement.
  • Partner with Customer Success to ensure seamless onboarding, value delivery, and expansion opportunities.
  • Implement structured pipeline reviews, sales forecasting, and performance management using CRM and sales analytics.
  • Act as a wingman for the KAM team and provide clear insights into new cutomers and Logos
