Role: Business Development Executive
Hours: 37.5 per week - Monday to Friday – 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 Dependent Upon Experience plus competitive bonus scheme

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Reporting to the Commercial Director, we are looking for a committed, ambitious, and highly motivated B2B Business Development Executive to join our team. Working within our UK-based team, you will have the ability and focus to drive our company to higher attainment as we look to aggressively grow our life sciences and chemicals sales within the UK and abroad.

SPECIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

· Educational Background: A degree in life sciences (e.g., biology, biochemistry, pharmacology), chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
· Sales Experience: Previous experience in sales, particularly in the life sciences, chemicals, or related industries, is highly valuable.
· Business Acumen: Strong skills in market analysis, strategy development, and financial forecasting are important for identifying opportunities and driving growth.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients, negotiating deals, and presenting ideas.
· Networking Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
· Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze customer needs and propose effective solutions.
· Adaptability: Willingness to stay updated on industry changes and adapt strategies accordingly.
· CRM Proficiency: Experience with CRM software to manage client relationships, track sales activities, and analyze data to improve customer relationships and drive sales growth.

Responsibilities

· Generating Sales: Actively seeking out and engaging new business opportunities within the life sciences and chemicals sectors to drive sales growth.
· Winning Business: Developing and implementing strategies to win new clients and expand our market presence.
· Customer Pipeline Management: Utilizing CRM software to manage and track the customer pipeline, ensuring efficient follow-up and conversion of leads.
· Client Meetings: Contacting and meeting with new clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
· Sales Presentations: Preparing and delivering compelling presentations and sales materials to support new business objectives.
· Product Alignment: Aligning our product offerings and services to the specific needs of new clients in the life sciences and chemicals fields.
· Solution Selling: Selling through discovery and providing innovative solutions to meet client requirements.
· Ease of Trade: Making it easy for customers to trade with us by streamlining processes and providing excellent customer service.
· Lead Engagement: Contacting and presenting to new or “warm” leads through sales calls/visits.
· Industry Events: Attending conferences, exhibitions, or on-site customer visits both within the UK and internationally to network and generate leads.
· Target Achievement: Working in a fast-paced environment ensuring that both departmental and individual targets are met.
· Reporting: Producing, creating, and completing internal and external reports to track progress and inform strategy.
· Team Support: Supporting the wider sales team in achieving collective goals.
· Company Representation: Being an ambassador for the company in a customer-facing role.
