Position Title: Business Development Executive, Community Fire Location: Remote, National Travel Required Reports To: Chief Commercial Officer   Position Summary The Business Development Executive, Community Fire is a pure hunter responsible for sourcing, shaping, and closing new private fire and all-hazards emergency services opportunities across the United States. Targets include counties, municipalities, special districts, developers, HOAs, master-planned communities, and any entity seeking to improve fire/EMS coverage through a contracted model.   Your mandate is to identify underserved or high-growth areas, build executive-level relationships, and drive deals from first contact to signed agreement. This role is core to our national expansion strategy and requires high judgment, political fluency, and comfort selling complex, multimillion-dollar service agreements.   Essential Functions * Pipeline Generation & Territory Strategy * Proactively research and identify markets with unmet fire/EMS coverage needs, population growth trends, or failing service levels. * Build and manage a national prospecting strategy—target lists, outreach sequences, and qualification frameworks. * Develop relationships across local government, emergency management, planning departments, developers, and community associations. * Consultative, Complex Sales * Lead discovery with county commissioners, city managers, administrators, developers, HOA boards, and other decision-makers. * Assess current fire/EMS gaps and articulate our private fire solution, including station placement, staffing models, budget impact, and service performance. * Drive the full sales cycle: initial outreach → stakeholder alignment → proposal → financial modeling coordination → board presentation → contract negotiation. * Cross-Functional Leadership * Work with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Deployment teams to scope and price service packages. * Translate customer needs into actionable internal requirements. * Participate in market expansion planning and provide real-time intelligence on regulatory, political, and competitive dynamics. * External Relations & Thought Leadership * Represent the company at industry conferences, economic development events, emergency services forums, and builder/developer associations. * Build a reputation as a subject-matter expert on modern fire/EMS delivery models, public-private partnerships, and community risk reduction.   Qualifications * 10+ years of enterprise sales, government sales, or business development experience; experience selling to public sector decision-makers is a strong advantage. * Track record of exceeding quotas on high-value, long-cycle deals. * Ability to navigate political environments, public meetings, and multi-stakeholder committees. * Exceptional communication skills—clear, confident, persuasive. * Strong financial and operational literacy; comfort discussing budgets, staffing, service levels, and ROI with executives. * Willingness to travel 30–50% as needed.   Performance Metrics * Annual new contract value closed. * Speed and quality of pipeline generation. * Penetration into new geographies and customer segments. * Long-term contract performance of customers acquired.   Compensation * On Target Earnings: ~$200,000; consisting of base salary and variable commission tied to new contract value. * Uncapped upside for exceeding targets. * Standard benefits package.
