EXPERIENCE

  • Min. 2 years of professional experience in tourism sales and account management (within the relevant region). Knowledge of the cruise industry will be considered a plus.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Open-minded and outgoing sales personality.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate with a “can-do” attitude.
  • A team player, able to work under pressure, with the willingness to travel and high dose of flexibility.
  • Secure handling of common MS-Office programs and intermediate level knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • A background in developing and implementing sales and marketing plans.
  • Perfect written and spoken Dutch and English, preferably French as a 3rd language.
  • Ability to build strong and effective business relationships by way of solid product knowledge, services, procedures, consistent follow-up, and problem-solving skills in order to sell our brand services.
  • Availability to travel within the designated territory, overnight stays and weekend work will be required.
  • Ability to adapt to a quickly changing sales environment, shifting priorities per business requirements.
  • A strong strategic thinker, able to identify and exploit business opportunities at an early stage.
  • Driving license.

Responsibilities

ROLE LOCATION

This role will be a remote role based in Benelux.

BASIC PURPOSE

The main task of a Business Development Executive is to identify and build up new sales opportunities/travel partners in order to achieve the highest possible turnover in this region and to increase the brand awareness of both Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and maintenance of travel agencies and selected distribution partnerships in the region.
  • Active search for new sales opportunities (also besides the classic sales channels).
  • Initialization of business/marketing plans with the travel agencies and sales partners as well as further sales activities to achieve the given sales target.
  • Permanent controlling of results, allocated budgets and business development within this region.
  • Development and implementation of customized training programs for travel agents & sales partners.
  • Participation in trade fairs, training, ship visits, roadshows & consumer events to represent the company.
  • Preparation of statistics and reports and permanent maintenance of the CRM (Salesforce).
  • Active and effective cooperation with the relevant departments in our headquarters for Continental Europe in Southampton.
  • Continuous reporting to the Senior Sales Manager.
  • Projects/Tasks may change or be adjusted according to business requirements along with the further development of the position, its role within the company and the overall organizational development.
