BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

We are currently seeking a Business Development Executive to join our team! This position is responsible for leading the execution of workers’ compensation stakeholder engagement and support throughout Eastern Idaho. With a key focus on maintaining effective relationships with customers and agency partners, the Business Development Executive will be primarily responsible for performing strategies centered on customer service, new business development, and account retention.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing (or a related discipline), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Licensed insurance agent under the laws, rules, and requirements of the state of Idaho.
  • Minimum 2 years of workers’ compensation experience as an agent, marketing rep or underwriter.
  • Insurance related designation or certification preferred
  • Thorough understanding of sales and marketing approaches with superior negotiation and influencing skills.
  • High level of customer service expertise and ability.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to consult, negotiate and interact effectively with all levels within the organization and external customers.
  • Strong proficiency using analytical tools to evaluate data as well as desktop applications, e.g., Microsoft Office products, to generate emails, forms/letters, reports, and presentations.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of time to policyholder sites within assigned area. Occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers and agency partners through the creation of individualized tactics and plans for profitable growth and retention.
  • Deliver service success by alleviating customer pain points through answering questions, providing tailored services, collaborating with additional members of the SIF team (Safety Services, Audit, Underwriting, etc.), and providing a high level of customer value.
  • Achieve success by building a pipeline of profitable new business accounts, leading presentations to agency partners and customers, adhering to key performance indicators (KPI) focused on fostering local relationships and agency performance, and collaborating with appropriate distribution channels and underwriting staff.
  • Stay abreast of local market conditions and competitor offerings and relay important marketing information back to Business Development.
  • Provide appropriate documentation and communication to other members of the SIF team regarding policy performance, agency commitments, claims concerns, and various other topics.
  • Be a familiar touchpoint for policyholders and agency partners within the geographical territory, while performing a variety of sales and service-oriented duties.
  • Promote and be a brand ambassador who effectively articulates the mission and vision of SIF to the business community and a variety of stakeholders.
