Position Title: Business Development Executive, Wildland Location: Remote, National Travel Required Reports To: Chief Commercial Officer   Position Summary The Business Development Executive – Wildland is responsible for driving growth and managing accounts within the Specialty & Wildland Fire segments, specifically in utilities, government entities, government contractors, and insurance carriers. This includes services such as Industrial Fire Brigades, Confined Space Rescue, Firewatch, Wildland Firefighting, Training, and Paramedic/EMT services. The role combines business development and account management, requiring expertise in consultative sales, relationship building, and operational coordination. You will identify new opportunities, secure long-term agreements, and ensure client satisfaction across government agencies, insurance providers, and private sector organizations operating in high-risk wildfire environments.   Essential Functions * Market Development & Pipeline Generation * Research and identify regions and industries with elevated wildfire risk and regulatory requirements. * Build and execute a national prospecting strategy targeting utilities, forestry companies, insurance carriers, municipalities, and emergency management agencies. * Develop and maintain relationships with decision-makers in public and private sectors. * Consultative Sales & Account Management * Lead discovery sessions to assess wildfire risk mitigation needs and present tailored solutions. * Promote integrated service offerings including Firewatch, Wildland Firefighting crews, paramedic support, and training programs. * Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting → proposal development → contract negotiation → onboarding. * Serve as primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring service delivery meets contractual and safety standards. * Cross-Functional Collaboration * Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Deployment teams to scope and price service packages. * Provide market intelligence to leadership on wildfire trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics. * Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership * Represent the company at wildfire prevention conferences, insurance forums, and emergency management events. * Position the organization as a trusted partner in wildfire risk reduction and emergency response.   Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in business, Emergency Management, Forestry, or related field (or equivalent experience). * 5+ years of business development or account management experience in fire services, emergency management, insurance, or related industries. * Proven success in complex, consultative sales with long cycles and high-value contracts. * Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. * Ability to travel nationally up to 50–60%.   Compensation * Target earnings: $175,000–$200,000 annually (base + commission). * Uncapped commission potential tied to new contract value and account growth. * Standard benefits package.   Position Disclaimer This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
