Job Summary
The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new commercial and industrial project opportunities, developing relationships with general contractors, mechanical contractors, engineering firms, facility managers, and project owners, and securing mechanical insulation contracts. This role works closely with the estimating and operations teams to ensure accurate proposals, successful project execution, and long-term client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential sectors.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, email, and industry events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, mechanical contractors, consultants, engineers, and property management companies.
- Schedule meetings with prospective clients to discuss project requirements and company capabilities.
- Promote the company's mechanical insulation services and value-added solutions.
Sales & Estimating Support
- Review project opportunities, drawings, and tender invitations.
- Coordinate with the estimating team to prepare competitive quotations and project bids.
- Present proposals and negotiate pricing, contract terms, and project schedules.
- Follow up on submitted quotations to maximize bid success.
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline and track opportunities from lead generation through project award.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients.
- Ensure timely responses to client inquiries and requests.
- Conduct regular client visits to strengthen relationships and identify future project opportunities.
- Resolve client concerns in collaboration with project managers and operations.
Market Development
- Monitor construction market trends, upcoming tenders, and competitor activities.
- Identify opportunities for expansion into new markets and services.
- Represent the company professionally while promoting its reputation and services.
Reporting
- Maintain accurate customer records
- Track sales targets, awarded projects, revenue forecasts, and client activities.
- Provide market intelligence and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in business development, construction sales, or industrial services.
- Experience in mechanical insulation, mechanical contracting, HVAC, industrial construction, or related trades is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction bidding and tendering processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build long-term relationships with contractors and project stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position
- frequent travel to construction sites and client offices
- Monday to Friday
- Some travel may be required throughout the service area
