THE OPPORTUNITY As digital audio becomes a primary driver of revenue growth, we’re looking for a Business Development Lead – Digital Audio to help scale the opportunity and reshape how the market buys audio. This is an intermediate commercial role with real influence, partnering closely with Commercial, agencies and internal teams to unlock new budgets, simplify the audio story, and grow revenue across our digital audio channels. Digital audio has moved from “nice add-on” to must-have. While radio remains a powerful brand medium, advertisers are increasingly demanding reach, accountability and simplicity across streaming and podcasts. Your mission is to help the market see, and buy, Total Audio. You’ll work alongside sales teams (not competing with them) to identify new opportunities, grow briefs, and build confidence in digital audio as a mass-reach, brand-building channel. You’ll also be a key voice feeding commercial insight back into product and operations, helping shape what we build next. HOW YOU'LL DO IT In this role, you will: Partner with individual sales teams to identify, shape and grow digital audio opportunities across streaming and podcasts Drive revenue growth by unlocking new budgets and larger briefs, particularly with agencies Champion a Total Audio planning mindset, simplifying how audio is pitched and bought Act as a trusted commercial expert – presenting, supporting pitches, and leading agency engagement Play a visible role in market education through roadshows, meetings and presentations Work closely with Operations and Product to improve existing products and inform future development Help grow podcasting and digital radio as credible, scalable media channels, not niche add-ons This is a highly proactive role focused on scale, momentum and growth, this is not responding to bookings but creating opportunity and enablement. What success looks like: Sales teams are confident pitching digital audio and Total Audio solutions Agencies clearly understand the incremental reach and effectiveness of NZME audio Digital audio revenue is growing through larger, smarter, more efficient campaigns Feedback from the market is actively shaping better products and processes ABOUT YOU You’ll bring a strong mix of commercial instinct, media understanding and relationship skills, along with: Proven experience in media sales, business development or commercial leadership A strong understanding of digital, audio, or multi-channel media environments Confidence presenting to agencies and senior stakeholders A solutions-focused, growth-driven mindset The ability to collaborate without ego, and influence without authority If you’re someone who loves turning insight into opportunity, and wants to help define the future of audio, this role is for you.
