· Proven track record in a business development or sales role, ideally within a regional or national context Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong strategic thinking and the ability to implement sales plans that deliver measurable results
· Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
· Demonstrated experience in managing and growing customer portfolios, including contract negotiation and upselling.
· Proficiency in the use of a CRM system, with the ability to utilise it effectively for tracking sales activity, managing customer relationships, and generating reports.
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure service excellence.
· Strong commercial awareness and understanding of market dynamics.

JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive revenue growth in the Aberdeen region and support the wider business. Reporting to the Sales Director, the BDM will play a key role in delivering the sales strategy, aligning closely with the Aberdeen depot to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and results-driven individual to retain and grow a portfolio of regional and national spending customers, contributing significantly to the company’s success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES REVENUE GROWTH:
· Develop and execute a strategic sales approach to drive revenue growth across the Aberdeen region, aligned with the broader sales strategy.
· Identify new business opportunities and convert them into profitable, long-term customer relationships.
Customer Portfolio Management:
· Retain and grow an assigned portfolio of customers, comprising both regional and national accounts.
· Build strong, lasting relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs and expectations.
· Proactively manage contract renewals, upselling additional services and solutions to maximise revenue.
