The Wallet, Payments & Commerce team is responsible for bringing ground-breaking financial services to consumers with a vision to replace the physical wallet and help people live financially healthier lives. Apple Pay enables an easy, secure, and private way to pay online. DESCRIPTION We are looking for an outstanding Business Development professional who drives initiatives with autonomy and makes a meaningful impact. In this position, you will be responsible for the adoption and growth of Apple Pay eCommerce in Japan and South Korea. You will build and nurture strategic partnerships with eCommerce merchants, Payment Service Providers, Processors, and other key industry players to deliver a seamless and secure payment experience to users. This is a full-time role within the Wallet, Payments, and Commerce team, based in our Tokyo office. Some domestic travel is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Proven account management or business development experience within payments ecosystem Deep knowledge and familiarity with the eCommerce merchants, Payment Service Providers, and Acquirer landscape Fluent oral and written communication and presentation skills in both Japanese and English. Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution, organizational, and decision-making skills A clear understanding of a great customer experience online and what differentiates Apple Pay from other payment methods Highly skilled at presenting ideas and acquiring support based on an analytical approach and steadfast attention to detail PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Fluency in Korean is a plus Business Development or Partnership experience in building large and complex partnerships in Japan is a plus. Direct experience working with various online merchant segments, Payment Service Providers, payment schemes, and processors is a plus Ability to handle directional changes and prioritize a portfolio of initiatives to ensure project success and drive impact Willingness to learn new technologies and keen interest in the payment space and its developments. Self-starter and results-oriented, with a proven track record of building lasting relationships Team worker with a proven track record of working with initiatives both within and across functions
