Business Development Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking a results-driven and proactive Business Development Manager to lead our growth initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding our client base, developing trade and retail partnerships, and managing in-person business relationships to support product uptake and brand growth.
This role involves frequent on-site collaboration with our operations and warehouse teams, supplier engagement, and in-person business meetings. It is not a remote role and requires a presence at our UK office and partner locations.
Duties:
· Identify and secure new trade clients, wholesale buyers, and commercial partnerships
· Strengthen relationships with local and regional retailers, contractors, and furnishing suppliers
· Support strategic stock planning by working with warehouse and inventory teams
· Coordinate in-person meetings with partners to pitch solutions and close agreements
· Conduct market research and identify trends in residential and commercial furnishing needs
· Support marketing and in-store promotional campaigns in collaboration with retail partners
· Attend trade fairs, networking events, and supplier briefings to represent the business
· Monitor performance KPIs and report directly to senior management
Requirements:
· Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in sales or business development, ideally within retail, furnishing, or consumer products
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven success in building commercial relationships
· Excellent negotiation and contract handling ability
· Ability to travel within the UK to attend business meetings and supplier visits
· Strong organisational and reporting skills
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Sales, or Retail Management
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
