Description

Are you passionate about growing profitable relationships with brokers and familiar with the Manchester commercial market? This could be an excellent development opportunity for you. We’re seeking an experienced and highly organised individual to join our Business Development team, to build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
You’ll take full ownership for generating profitable business. You’ll use your expertise to build, manage and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including all key customers and networks to deliver strategy and increase opportunities for the business.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our Manchester office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively develop strong relationships with a designated panel of brokers in Manchester, taking full ownership for the generation and retention of profitable business.
  • Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities in Manchester and ensure a long-term pipeline and broker engagement.
  • Communicate the nature of the brokers’ business, the marketplace and the potential of the relationship within AXA.
  • Plan, forecast and set the operational targets to achieve the strategic development plan.
  • Identify new deals and markets, assess feasibility and project manage the implementation.
  • Effectively promote and deploy AXA’s strategy, product range, propositions and key differentiators to leverage commercial opportunities.
  • Undertake profit reviews to identify areas for improvement and lead conversations with brokers to agree actions to optimise profitability.
