Description

COMPANY SUMMARY

FJA is an innovative engineering consultancy delivering technical, professional, advisory and construction services in the utilities field. We specialise in utility engineering design across Australia’s largest infrastructure projects. Our growing brand portfolio includes FJA Consulting, FJA Underbore and FJA Water (Sydney Water WSC). As we continue to grow in the utilities space, we’re looking to expand our presence in Queensland with a key business development hire. We are growing across our utility design and underbore design capabilities.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven Business Development Manager with a background in civil infrastructure, utilities, or engineering consulting. This role will suit someone who loves building client relationships, thrives in a technical environment, and has a passion for identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will work with utility authorities, contractors and consultants to identify and secure opportunities where FJA can add value to projects. The role can be full time or part time to suit candidates requirements.

EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles in engineering, construction, or infrastructure
  • Understands the utilities and civil infrastructure landscape (preferred)
  • Is confident preparing bids, proposals, and tenders
  • Is a natural relationship builder – with consultants, contractors, councils or utilities
  • Is proactive, organised, and commercially minded

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Business development and sales experience in the same or parallel industry
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skillsets
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, or business
  • Existing industry relationships in Queensland
  • A positive, can-do mindset and genuine curiosity about infrastructure challenges
  • Comfortable working autonomously and being relentless in pursuit of new opportunities
