  BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Location: Sacramento, CA Reports to: Division Manager Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt   Deacon Construction, LLC is seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager in our Multifamily Division to support the growth of our construction services in market-rate housing, affordable housing, senior housing, and student housing sectors. Based in Sacramento and/or the Bay Area, this role will work closely with executive leadership and colleagues across our offices.   This role goes beyond generating leads—our business development team is engaged throughout the whole project lifecycle. We're seeking a confident and consultative professional who excels at building relationships, navigating complex client needs, and contributing to the strategic growth of the company.   Key Responsibilities: * Develop and execute business development strategies to attract and retain clients across multiple market sectors. * Represent Deacon's construction services in meetings, events, and industry functions. * Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities through cold-calling, referrals, and targeted networking. * May support estimating, project management, and executive teams in creating compelling proposals and closing deals. * May support clients through all phases of project development, construction, and close-out. * Provide real-time feedback from clients to internal stakeholders to enhance service delivery. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of business development activities using Microsoft Dynamics CRM. * Coordinate with internal teams and leverage Procore to stay aligned with project status and client expectations. * Actively participate in relevant associations, networking events, and community outreach to expand Deacon's market visibility.   Required Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in construction, real estate, or related industries. * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. * Strong understanding of relationship-based, consultative sales. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. * Experience using Microsoft Dynamics CRM to manage client pipelines and sales activity. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and departments. * Willingness to travel locally and regionally and to attend events outside traditional work hours.   Preferred Qualifications: * Established network in the Northern California multifamily construction market. * Familiarity with Procore or similar project management platforms. * Working knowledge of multifamily construction processes, delivery methods, and terminology.   Why Deacon: * Competitive salary and performance-based incentives * Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and more * Collaborative culture focused on growth, excellence, and continuous improvement. * Opportunities for leadership and professional development   Deacon Construction, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
