Job Description Lawn Specialties is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Business Development Manager to support the continued growth and expansion of our business. This role is responsible for strengthening our existing customer base while identifying and developing new market opportunities. The Business Development Manager plays a key role in securing long-term, renewable contracts as well as one-time projects and directly contributes to the overall success and growth of the branch or division. Working closely with the General Manager, the Business Development Manager will develop and execute a divisional sales plan aligned with corporate objectives. This position requires a strong focus on sales strategy, pipeline management, customer relationships, and performance tracking to meet or exceed revenue goals. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the General Manager to develop, execute, and achieve the division’s sales plan. Maximize sales revenue by meeting or exceeding corporate goals through clear communication of expectations, performance planning, monitoring, and review. Build, manage, and grow a robust sales pipeline to support sustainable branch growth. Establish and achieve sales objectives, including monthly proposal and revenue targets aligned with branch goals. Prepare and present regular status reports on proposals, weekly activities, and sales progress. Monitor competitor activity, maintaining detailed records of competitor information gathered through bids and market research. Maintain and expand the customer base by building strong relationships with key clients and identifying new business opportunities. Contribute to branch operational objectives by providing sales insights, preparing and executing action plans, and helping implement productivity, quality, and customer service standards. Support branch financial objectives by forecasting sales requirements, analyzing variances, identifying profitable work, and pursuing additional sales opportunities. Forecast weekly sales goals and track performance against targets. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial sales, preferably within the lawn care or pesticide application industry. Ability to obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (including aquatic, storm water, natural areas, and right-of-way certifications) within six months of employment. Strong understanding of lawn care practices and pesticide applications; experience with Real Green Systems is a plus. Valid drivers license with a minimum of 5 years of clean driving history. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to effectively manage budgets, forecasts, and operational data. At least 3 years of experience in budgeting, operations, and business development within a commercial environment.
