Derlea Brand Foods is a proudly Canadian-owned food manufacturing company based in Pickering, Ontario, currently in an exciting phase of expansion across North America. As part of this growth, we are looking to add talented, qualified professionals to our team—starting with an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to help deliver on our ambitious growth agenda. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the CPG food industry, with a track record of success in business development and account management. This role will be instrumental in driving the commercial performance and expansion of our business, managing key accounts, and securing new customer acquisition across all channels. Responsibilities include identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities, analyzing the competitive landscape, optimizing product and pricing strategies, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure sustainable long-term growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead selling efforts across all channels, with new and existing customers
  • Build collaborative relationships cross-functionally, with customers, brokers and distributors to deliver aggressive growth targets
  • Lead the day to day customer relationships and execution of the business strategy in line with company objectives

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business or related area
  • 8+ years of progressive responsibilities selling, business development & account management
  • Demonstrated success and experience in the food industry: retail, food service, industrial sales
  • Outstanding selling, negotiating, presentation, computer skills
  • Proven track record closing sales, leading sales in a fast-paced, dynamic office setting
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to create long term relationships
  • Highly motivated self-starter, driven & able to lead others
  • Strong attention to detail, people management skills, able to work independently and in a team
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Able to work in office and lead in-person meetings as needed
