We are a team of professional and dedicated persons that covers Eastern European countries, and we manage and support more than 100 partners from Industry, Academia and Research Institutes. We focus on supporting partners in our region across the entire raw materials value chain in order to increase collaboration and development activities to make raw and advance materials a strength for Europe.
Are you an experienced sales-oriented Business Developer with experience from the Mining/ Steel/Automotive or Recycling industry, who wants to help us foster innovation in the raw materials sector? Then join us and become a part of one of the largest and strongest consortia in the raw materials sector worldwide and support our business development particularly in Eastern Europe.
To strengthen our team we are looking for a Business Development Manager who possesses sales skills, solid business judgment, practical application of technical solutions, and broad, flexible and interdisciplinary thinking, a skilled networker with strong problem-solving and interpersonal capabilities.

You will work with an international team of business developers across Europe and report directly to the South and East Regional Director. You will collaborate and interact with all partners in the Eastern Europe countries and beyond, other Regions, and staff at Headquarters in Berlin by performing the following tasks:

  • Primarily provide assistance to the partners in innovation projects development, feasibility studies, management and evaluation tasks.
  • Service sales for current partners and getting new partners to join EIT RawMaterials network.
  • Promote and sell our key products and services, including but not limited to Open Innovation Challenges, Business Intelligence Platform, Talent and Skills Management Platform etc.
  • Evaluate the progress of running Innovation upscaling projects, support projects’ lifecycle management, also in Project Officer role to ensure market uptake and impact.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of Matchmaking and Networking events.
  • Connect to and liaise with national and regional innovation programs, local partners and national or regional government bodies, seeking opportunities to contribute to the financial sustainability of EIT RawMaterials.
  • Support the RIS Hubs to communicate their role, regional impact and the wider KIC strategy, implementing communication, outreach and knowledge dissemination activities.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate:

  • Holds at least an MSc or equivalent academic degree preferably related to the raw and advanced materials’ value chain
  • Has good knowledge of the Polish eco-system in the Mining, Steel, Automotive or Recycling sector
  • Has solid experience in sales, business development and project portfolio management.
  • Is experienced in product and/or business development in raw or advanced materials (ideally) or related topics (e.g., market analysis, incubation, business model design, funding, mentoring, patenting), and has a sound network of personal contacts in our region.
  • Has commercial experience setting up and selling services to SMEs and large organizations.
  • Familiarity with EU or national funding programmes is a plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, other language skills are seen as an asset.
