Description:

We’re in need of a Business Development Manager with experience in the K-12 education or technology sectors to join our Rally division. Rally’s digital products for school districts are market-tested and ready to scale, and we’re in need of an experienced sales professional to plan and execute our commercialization processes and strategies. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essentials:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar or related position.
  • Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Prior experience in a sales or business development role in the education or technology/SaaS sectors.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing sales processes.
  • Familiarity with the K-12 education landscape in Canada and the USA.
  • Ability to conduct thorough market research and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building connections with decision-makers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English for effective pitching and presentations.
  • Ability to assess data and make informed recommendations for process improvements.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in designing Rally’s sales processes from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include creating, implementing and executing our sales plan while continuously assessing and recommending processes and staffing requirements to support ongoing success. You will conduct thorough research on K-12 markets across Canada and the USA, developing effective market entry strategies. You will build connections with decision-makers in target markets as you pitch our products and secure new business opportunities.
The position includes a competitive base salary, plus variable pay, along with a strong benefits package, and RRSP matching. Our team works on a hybrid model, with a mixture of in-office days at our headquarters in Sherwood Park, AB and optional remote work days. The position will involve some travel within North America.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning:

  • Design, develop, and enhance Rally’s sales processes.
  • Create, implement, and execute a comprehensive sales plan.
  • Continuously assess and recommend improvements to sales processes and staffing needs.

Client development:

  • Develop effective market entry strategies tailored to specific regions.
  • Collaborate with our Marketing Coordinator to generate and develop new leads.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers in target markets.

Business proposals and pitches:

  • Pitch products effectively to secure new business opportunities.
  • Write detailed business proposals for potential clients.
  • Transition new clients to our Accounts team for successful onboarding.

Market research:

  • Conduct in-depth research on new K-12 markets across Canada and the USA.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to inform sales strategies.
  • Explore potential partnerships with complementary brands in the K-12 space.
