Job Description
Linxon US LLC seeks Business Development Manager, Electrical Engineering in Raleigh, NC: The Business Development Manager has specific focus on Electrical Substation EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) market for Utilities, Renewable Generation and Transportation business segments and will be reporting directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing. Specific duties include: Assess Electrical Substation EPC projects within various segments/regions and their fitness to meet company business strategy and objectives; Achieve marketing, sales and business development targets by driving specific business opportunities and other strategic goals within the Electrical Substation EPC market for Utilities, Renewable Generation and Transportation segments; Screen prospects and opportunities to ensure focus on those with the highest probability of success while being accountable for the result; Develop and implement a proper customer engagement plan; Identify, create and efficiently manage key client relationships; Coordinate with external stakeholders, negotiate contracts with customers, and maintain relationships with decision influencers; Lead and drive marketing, sales and business development strategies including creating suitable proposals within the Electrical Substation EPC market for Utilities, Renewable Generation and Transportation segments; Develop and manage Player Maps, identify target pricing and award criteria; Lead pricing strategy, technical positioning, competitor analysis and selling company value for key pursuits; Drive the complete BD/Sales cycle with company clients, from initial lead identification and Go/No-Go assessments through tendering, negotiation, risk review and contract closure; Estimate demand and identify potential markets for products and services; and Develop pricing and other strategies, to acquire and retain customers.
Requirements: Master’s degree in engineering, Business, Management or Marketing, or foreign equivalent and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Knowledge of: Business development and sales strategies; Managing key client accounts; Technical knowledge of turnkey substations and/or power plants; Contract negotiations for Turnkey Substation projects; Negotiating and closing complex business transactions valued at over US$25 million; Sales or account management within the Utility or Renewables industry segments; Turnkey electrification; Flexible AC Power Transmission Solutions (FACTS) for electrical grid stabilization and power quality improvement; Substation automation, protection, and control technologies; Offshore wind AC grid connection solutions; High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) power transmission projects; Substations and/or power plants; and, Contract negotiations for utility & EPC contracts. National travel required up to 50% of the time to meet with customers. Remote working or telecommuting permitted in all U.S. States, in accordance with company policy.
