REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education . An MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., in sales or marketing) is a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the logistics, delivery, transportation, or supply chain industries.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the delivery services and logistics sector, including customer needs, regulatory requirements, and technological trends.
  • Sales Skills: Proven experience in B2B sales, with the ability to close deals, negotiate contracts, and meet sales targets.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop data-driven strategies to grow the business.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and coordinate efforts across various departments.
  • CRM Software Proficiency: Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track leads, sales, and client interactions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the E-commerce or Retail Industry: An understanding of how delivery services integrate with e-commerce, retail, or other business models.
  • International Business Development Experience: Familiarity with expanding services to international markets.
  • Leadership Experience: Ability to lead and mentor junior team members as the business development team grows.
Responsibilities
  1. Business Opportunity Identification:
    o Identify and develop new business opportunities within the delivery and logistics industry.
    o Research and analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs to discover untapped market segments or niche services.
    o Monitor industry developments to spot opportunities for expansion or diversification of services (e.g., specialized deliveries, tech-enabled solutions).
  2. Sales Strategy Development:
    o Create and implement sales strategies to target and secure new clients and contracts.
    o Develop business proposals, pitch presentations, and negotiate contracts with potential clients.
    o Establish pricing models that are competitive while ensuring profitability for the company.
    o Set and achieve sales targets, regularly tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
  3. Client Relationship Management:
    o Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    o Act as the main point of contact for new and existing business relationships, resolving issues and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
    o Collaborate with the customer service and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and exceed client expectations.
  4. Partnerships and Networking:
    o Forge partnerships with complementary businesses (e.g., e-commerce platforms, retailers, warehousing companies) to expand service offerings.
    o Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build a professional network and stay up-to-date on industry trends.
    o Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to promote the company’s services and brand to potential partners and clients.
  5. Market Analysis & Reporting:
    o Analyze market conditions, customer demands, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies.
    o Monitor customer feedback, trends, and satisfaction to refine the company’s offerings and improve market positioning.
    o Provide regular reports to senior management on the progress of business development initiatives, sales performance, and pipeline status.
  6. Contract Negotiation and Closing:
    o Lead the negotiation of contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the company while aligning with client needs.
    o Close new business deals, ensuring all legal and contractual agreements are in place.
    o Work closely with legal and operations teams to ensure the successful execution of signed agreements.
  7. Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
    o Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the practical feasibility of new business initiatives and smooth implementation of services.
    o Work with marketing to develop campaigns or promotions aimed at acquiring new customers or engaging existing ones.
    o Assist the finance team with pricing strategies, budgets, and forecasting to ensure new opportunities are financially viable.
  8. Customer Retention & Upselling:
    o Maintain ongoing communication with existing clients to identify opportunities for service upselling or cross-selling.
    o Address customer concerns or potential service gaps to ensure long-term satisfaction and continued business.
    o Proactively work to resolve any issues that could affect client relationships or retention.
  9. Performance Tracking and KPIs:
    o Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development efforts, including revenue growth, client acquisition, and retention rates.
    o Track sales performance, adjust strategies as needed, and report on outcomes to senior leadership.
    o Measure the effectiveness of marketing and promotional efforts to drive new business.
