Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a results-driven, highly active, and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to lead sales growth in our Edmonton branch. This is a true outside sales role. You will spend approximately 80% of your day in the field, conducting site visits and face-to-face meetings.
You’ll be responsible for generating leads, building strong relationships on job sites, and selling our staffing services to employers in construction, warehousing, and other industrial sectors. As the primary driver of local business development, you will help shape the future of the Edmonton branch while delivering real impact to the community. You will be required to maintain records in CRM (HubSpot) daily, track all site visits, client communications, pipeline activity and provide weekly reporting on performance metrics.
This role requires someone who is self-motivated, physically present at sites, confident navigating trailers, warehouses, and active construction environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct daily in-person visits to construction sites, warehouses, and industrial facilities.
  • Prospect, develop, and close business opportunities through cold calls, door knocking, networking, and referrals.
  • Build long-term relationships with hiring managers, site supervisors, and operations leads.
  • Negotiate rate agreements, pitch EMBERS’ unique value proposition, and close staffing contracts.
  • Prepare and provide job orders to the operations team with detailed instructions to ensure proper worker placements.
  • Follow up after placement to ensure client satisfaction and seek opportunities for ongoing or expanded business.
  • Develop and execute a local growth strategy in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Be a hands-on contributor in shaping client acquisition, onboarding systems, and CRM reporting processes.
  • Identify new opportunities in untapped sectors such as property management and manufacturing.
  • Serve as a feedback liaison between the client and operations teams to ensure service delivery matches expectations.
  • Track and analyze sales trends, market gaps, and local opportunities; propose new service offerings or sectors as needed.
