POSITION SUMMARY: This role drives growth across the environmental market and portfolio by developing and executing strategy to capitalize on emerging trends and market needs. You’ll identify and develop new business opportunities within key areas and segments including water and wastewater, mining, aquaculture, and environmental consultants, as well as research and academia. Leveraging deep market insight, industry expertise, and engagement with key opinion leaders, the role expands Thermo Fisher Scientific’s presence and positions the company as a credible niche provider in the sector. The role builds strong partnerships with key customers and strategic suppliers while collaborating closely with product management, sales and cross-functional teams to achieve successful commercial outcomes both short and longer term. This role will spend 30-40% of time in field. REQUIREMENTS: A formal tertiary qualification in the scientific or business field, with domain expertise in the environmental sector 3+ years in business development or a related commercial role Preferred Fields of Study: Environmental Science or a related area, Business Exceptional business acumen and commercial effectiveness, with the ability to develop strategy and translate strategy into execution and revenue outcomes. Strong analytical, business intelligence, and problem-solving capability; able to connect market insights to actionable growth initiatives. Strong communication skills and gravitas; excellent relationship building skills with an ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels including key opinion leaders, and cross-functional teams. A resourceful self-starter with a growth mindset; adaptable, relationship-oriented and focused on delivering customer value. Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities with demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities Demonstrated success in meeting revenue targets and contributing to business growth Advanced proficiency in CRM systems, data analysis tools, Microsoft Office suite and other AI tools Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix organization Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards Experience with digital commerce platforms and e-business solutions preferred Benefits Join our team and take advantage of these great benefits!
