QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience: experience in a similar role preferably within Fire Protection Services, Mechanical Services or Facilities Management industries, with a proven track record in business development and sales.
  • Skills: Strong business development skills with the ability to sell value-based solutions to both corporate and government clients in technical services industries.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and deliver compelling presentations to senior executives.
  • Negotiation: Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to reconcile conflicting objectives and arrive at mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Technology Awareness: Knowledge of current developments in technology and how these can be integrated into our service offerings.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally, resolving conflicts and fostering teamwork to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Business Development Manager for Fire & Mechanical Services in NSW, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth within the Fire and Mechanical Services business by developing partnerships, identifying new markets, and delivering excellent customer satisfaction. You will play a pivotal role in achieving sales targets, leading tender/bid processes, and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, both externally and internally. This role will also require you to collaborate closely with operational teams to deliver innovative, multi-technical services to our end-user clients in strategic market sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Growth & Sales Development: Identify and target high-value opportunities within existing and new customers. Develop and implement customer relationship management plans and win high-value contracts across strategic sectors.
  • Sales Leadership: Lead the sales process for both Fire and Mechanical divisions, driving performance through monitoring sales targets, budgets, and KPIs.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Develop strong, ongoing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and senior management. Represent Equans at key industry events and meetings to promote our services.
  • Bid & Tender Management: Lead major tender processes, delivering accurate cost estimates, pricing, and professional responses with effective conversion rates.
  • Customer Retention & Relationship Management: Maintain and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention across major accounts.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential business partners, maintaining a strong understanding of technological advancements within the industry.
